Like the floor said to the broom, “What a clean sweep!”
Bartlesville High School’s swimming fans made the same claim for its pool heroes on Tuesday.
Bartlesville teams (Bruins and Lady Bruins) whisked Tulsa Union, Owasso and Bixby in the dustbin of defeat during a multi-school competition at the Adams Pool.
In the boys’ competition, the Bruins outscored its four foes (including the one-man Wesleyan Christian school team) by a combined point total of 444.5 to 136.5.
The Lady Bruins overwhelmed their three challengers, 439-55.
Chad Englehart is well along in his 10th season at Bartlesville head coach. The Lady Bruin squad is the defending girls state champion.

GIRLS COMPETITION
The bottom line of the story can be told in four words: Bartlesville won every event.
Eleven events, eleven gold-medal swims.
But the Lady Bruins’ dominance went way beyond that:
— Bartlesville won first and second in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
— Bartlesville bolted to first through fourth place in the 50 freestyle — Calli Richards, Erin Roper, Cara Moore and Sophia Williams.
—Bartlesville also nailed down the top four spots in the 200 individual medley — Anna Young, Annabelle Droege, Gabrielle Burke and Daisy Droege.
— A third event in which the Lady Bruins surged to first, second, third and fourth was the 100 breaststroke — Addison Williams, Burke, Roper and Abby Wells.
— Events in which the Lady Bruins grabbed the top three places included the 200 freestyle (Anna Wells, Alexis Taylor and Macie Stapleton); the 100 backstroke (Daisy Droege, Richards and Stapleton).
Young won four events (200 I.M., 100 fly, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay), while Anna Wells finished first in three events (200 free, 500 free, 400 free relay),

BOYS COMPETITION
The Bruins placed first in 10 of the 11 events, including winning all three relays.
Bartlesville placed first and second in numerous individual events:
— 200 free (Zane Deal and Travis Lief); 50 free (Luke Olsen and Camden McDonald); 100 back (Olsen and Lief); and 100 breast (Parker Shoesmith and Ethan Peterson).
Two Bruins captured four first places — Olsen (50 free, 100 back, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay) and Shoesmith (200 I.M., 100 breast, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay).
Deal climbed out of the pool a winner in three events ((200 free, 500 free, 200 free relay, 400 free relay).

Sam Conrad torpedoed to first place in the boys 100 butterfly (:54.73) and to third place in the boys 200 individual medley (2:05.72).
